After the Lord Mayors Show.

I spent most of my life in marketing but wouldn't fancy being put in charge of drumming up a crowd to this weekends races in Sydney. We're back on the Kenzo, a track that makes even Waller throw his hands up in despair and the fields are decidedly average.

Oh I wish we had a horse in training, there's so much easy prize money here. no bets though.

Feature racing is at Ballarat and in WA. The Ballarat meeting is everything you'd expect from a meeting in the month after the carnival. At short prices, you could fancy KRISTY LEE who ran terrific time against Vain Queen in a G3 last time. She's won the most prize money of this field and while there is money for Danestroem,, barrier 2 seals the deal for me.

Later in the day, MANNOPOLY may still be getting in under the radar. I expected it would be $6 and it went up $13 or more. The horse has won two straight including beating an above average field in the China Bowl at Ararat, winning 70k in the process. Best of all, his two runs back were after a two year break. With two wins and two placings, albeit from a different decade, he's a tempting each way shot as is  THE INVENTOR.

We backed him with some confidence last week, based on the Qld form and he never got a blow in the race. Backed up and with an extra 400 meters, again to our eye he's overs here and the combination of Laming and Gauci hardly lacks experience. With two from two at the distance including the Tatts Cup in June, it may be this was the target all along...

Can't get excited about Randwick, but CROOKED STICK has looked above average in the midweeks and gets out over further here. $4 is a bit short, but the style of both wins suggests talent.

My bet of the day though is an absolute moral on form. ALMAS FURY ran a close second to Hucklebuck in one of the form races of the year at HQ and even through the draw has been unkind, really like the way this race sets up for him. The Cleaner will lead them a merry dance and Alma's could be the one to catch him on the line if the track allows. Huge odds at $15 in our view.

Our sponsors at Ladbrokes are one of the few Australian bookies that allow cross the card each way multis, so we recommend that you combine ALMA'S, MANNOPOLY and THE INVENTOR in an each way trixie. Four bets each side give you the three doubles and a treble. The $1 win treble will pay over $1000. Which is nice.

The $1 place treble will pay at least $50. Also nice.

Good luck
