Thursday night and we're feeling confident about the weekend. We're managing to conveniently forget the Warwick Farm dynamic, but with great racing at Flemington and of course one particularly interesting race in Brissy, we're locked in for a great afternoon.
I'm really struggling to see beyond MY KINGDOM OF FIFE. Sure the value's gone, although we may be looking back at $3.50 as a great price come Saturday night, but he's got proven form, in a grreat stable and Bowman's on top. I'm of the view that for the first time this year, he might actually be a Good Thing.
And on that subject, if racing was easy, we'd add ANISE, INDISCRETIONS and DECEMBER DRAW to the list of likely winners. But it's not easy of course...Is it?
Our main focus is the Million Dollar Quaddie in Sydney. After reading Dave Nevison's book this week, where he tells derring-do tales of tilts at huge UK jackpot carry overs, it's terrific to have our own big pot to aim at. All we have to do is pick the winner of the last four races, ideally with none of the ante post favourites and we're rich....
Trouble is, I think the favourites will win the first two legs so at least one of our tickets will be for Anise into My Kingdom into field, field and then we pray that both Captain Sensible and Red Lord salute at 151/1 each...
Have a go. The flexi bet is one of the (few) things that TAB Sportsbet lead the field on. For $5 it's got to be a better bet than Lotto!
