Something big is happening in the Australian racing world. And I reckon it's too good to miss. Good news is it's also free!
It all kicked off a few weeks ago when our favourite racing pundit, Ron Dufficy started wondering on air about starting a twitter feed. Now I confess, I have been a big fan of Ron's for many a year and even though I'd never met the man, reckoned that if I did see him at Randwick that day, I'd say hello and offer to get him started. No bother, within a few days, he was off and running. And his tweets are terrific.
He's chasing Bensley in trying to get to 1000 followers but in the meantime, all us fans of their work can sit back and get great advice and updates like never before. Brilliant.
And of course there are a few other people at it. Lots of time wasters obviously and none worse than the TAB who tweet the result of EVERYTHING. Trots at Menangle, one legged arse kicking, you name it...
But the good ones are worth seeking out. On Tuesday, Oli Bell from Sky Racing World tweeted that English trainer Richard Hannon was very keen on the chances of a 2 yo called Eureka. Centrebet were offering fixed odds of $15. Do I need to tell you the rest? Hence our first ever tweet and a big thanks to Oli Bell.
