Sorry, couldn't help myself....
The Open is at the forefront of our thoughts still. Hoping that Overton will come out and blitz the good weather but also fascinated by this new bloke from Welwyn Garden City, home of Sir Nick and Ian James Poulter. Swingng it good...
Racing wise, it's an uninspiring day. The fields at Brisbane are typically daft, 20 runners plus emergencies over 1200...daft. Cant get my head around Melbourne now that all the pommie horses are spelling.
The two that I do like tomorrow won't makes us rich, but for the Winter I reckon they could be a bit better than the average. In Sydney, WAZN looks like a horse that still has lots to show. Last at the turn a fortnight ago, he relished the extra yards and flew home. Just like all the other Waller horses that day. He's no value at evens but might be on to better things.
SCARF looked great winning in the heavy and then had a shocking ride last week. Could easily come back but not with our cash. Same goes for HOME ON A WING who we might back if the price is right...he was good enough to be the Duff's only tip last week and thats good enough for me.
our other tip this week is an old favourite who we are looking to avoid once the wonder horse comes back to the track, BRAVE THE WAY. Reckon he is better than the horses he is running against and we would be suprised if he doesn't win.
But fane and fortune comes from Overton winning the Open. Go Jeff!
