Last week was difficult. This week no easier. The racing gods have conspired to pit a few of our favourites together creating a classic head/heart decision, Vic racing is at Caulfield (nuff said) and at 7pm Friday night it's raining in Sydney so we can't be sure about the state of the tracks. Hard?...
Looks like a few favourites could go in tomorrow, trouble is...which ones?
In Sydney, we like SWEETEST MELODY with the added benefit of Nash on top and The Duff reckons that ALTIUS is the good thing of the day. They are both around the $3 mark and we should probably go with the head and pop them in a treble with you know who, currently paying $2. Waller is apparently so confident with FORETELLER that he has already decided which race he goes to next based on the quality of his win. (Good win: Epsom, Torrid Struggle: Metrop!)
The trouble with that treble is that BRAVE THE WAY is in Foreteller's race...he won nicely at Coffs and the trainer knows his onions. And even worse, MUTAWARATH is in Altius' race. At Huge Odds. Unlike BTW, he ran a cast iron shocker last time, but he is a little ahem "hard to catch" so we have to save on him each way.
Confused? Yep...in fact, I've come up with a novel solution. I'm a hobby punter at best, so will not be taking the $2 on Waller's best. Instead, as tipped earlier, we have today taken the 100/1 about FORETELLER to win the COX PLATE. All the internet forum experts say he can't win. Bit like they said Kingdom of Fife couldn't win...
So. This weeks tips are a little different. And a get rich quick scheme. Best of all, they'll still be alive, although possibly a little rough round the edges, in a few weeks time. Unlike last weeks tips. Sorry again.

We've given you the winner of the Cox. The tip for the Caulfield Cup and bought with the race in mind is the distinctive and completely crazy grey GLASS HARMONIUM. $21 looks good to me.
The winner of the Melbourne Cup is of course DECEMBER DRAW. Duff agrees...good enough for me. $26 is available. Double them up, get rich...
Our favourite horse is racing in Brissy next Wednesday. Top jockey engaged. Excited....
