Saturday

It's very nice to go travelling...

With a grand slam on the horizon, we're at the magnificent Millennium tomorrow and then off to Prestbury Park for two days of Group 1 jump racing next week. Just cant wait. Freezing cold and I have no idea what horse is running in what, but just being here is great.

having said all that, possibly the greatest race of recent memory is being run at Flemington up the straight tomorrow. Well actually today your time, but I digress. Hay List is a short priced favourite on the basis that a) he is a horse not a machine, b) the opposition includes WOORIM. And Woorim is about 17th in the betting since some experts think he's the 17th best horse in the race. Its a good field, for sure, but they are wrong and if he hits that fast lane five lengths off the fence (which he might having drawn barrier 7...) then he could be the one steaming home again. By all means take the $3.80 about Hay List. I'd much rather the $5 a place about Heathcotes finest.

Elsewhere tomorrow, the Golden Slipper winner (possibly) is up against an odds on hot pot and armed for action that almost certainly cant stay the 1200? We have taken the $151 about MRS GRAY and advise you do the same. All the value has gone tomorrow, each way at 8/1 looked good, even if she is unlikely to be fully tuned up. Best watch her run well and see the Slipper price tumble to what it should be based on her form with Samaready. Dont say I didnt tell you.

I imagine that Sydney will be wet tomorrow and once again, apart from working out the track, the biggest challenge is reading Wallers mind. If Merchandise werent in the race then MARDEN would be a moral. But he is. And he's fancied. Will wait for the traditionally revealing and honest interview with Waller tomorrow.

Bet of the weekend has to be BUDAI who avoids Americain tomorrow. AMERICAIN is of course a lay down misere in the Australian Cup, but nevertheless David Hayes decision to send BUDAI to CANBERRA, albeit for $200k is a big clue. GET ON!

Other winners tomorrow/today are PINKER PINKER, BRAYROAN and WALES. Wales are 1/10 on. They're the one I'm nervous about...
