Love is all around

I love hearing that the track has come up as a heavy 8. A heavy 10 even better, simply because it means that so many horses are already out of the running. And sometimes, just sometimes it takes the bookies a few hours to catch on?

This weekend at the ahem Sunny Coast is a Heavy 8 already. That's terrible news for horses like Woorim who would have been a moral. On the other hand, there's a number of horses that Callendar would call "absolute swimmers" engaged, some of who have a good chance.

Already fancied but better off now that the rain has come are AUSWORLD: the Gold Rating form will stand up and he's two wins and twice placed in six goes on the heavy and BALAVAN, who has been a touch disappointing in Brissy but this is a drop in class. If you're planning a bet on either, you have to take fixed price before everyone else realises they're happy on the ground.

Bigger priced horses include SIMMERING and MR TWEED. Unfortunately they are in the same race! And really stupidly big prices are on offer for two Kiwi swimmers (thanks Richie) in NICOLE AMY and SHE RULES. The latter is 100/1. Form at this distance is two wins and three places, wet form is three wins from six and she has drawn gate 7. But it is Kiwi form and her two runs so farhere have been uninspiring, third in a poor 1200 handicap and last in the G1 Tiara last week when she was also 100/1. Have a dollar each way!

The Caloundra Cup is tough. If only Clangtastic was running, he loves the wet! I recall Teary Eyed ran well in the wet against the wonder horse, so he might be the one. But I might be watching...

Good luck all.
