A quick midweek update as I, as they say in the movies, have gotta horse. Well three actually. It's still wet (wet, wet) in Sydney and they are running on a heavy 8 at Canterbury on Wednesday.
I'm really interested in the form of DAL ROMMEL who comes to town from the Central Coast on a winning streak. That's not unremarkable but I do like the fact that they have been chucking money at the bookies each time it has ran. And collecting! Plus the time it won on the heavy at the hairpin bend track that is Wyong, all reports say he picked up the field and went away strongly. I wonder if I can get anyone to lay me even money that Callendar will call him a swimmer at some point in the afternoon? Hopefully about five minutes before he "gets the bickies"...
I also like two horses trained by the new King of Sydney racing (official). Have a look at SHAWNEE GIRL's recent form, especially the time she flashed home in the wet to a horse that won in the wet four days ago. Worth a small bet for sure in this grade.
Much more interesting though is MARDEN. Two UK runs, one of which was a slashing win at Newmarket over 1400, before emigrating to God's country makes interesting reading. Frankly, we know nothing more except three key pieces of detail. Waller. Bowman. $9.
Plus, you reckon with a pommy upbringing, it'll handle the wet?
Good luck with whatever you pick...thanks for all the good feedback...we are having fun...
Finally. Can someone explain why England are $15 to win the world cup and Wales are $81. I know neither of them can win it, but $15 England? Do these guys ever actually watch anything but League?
*Raindrops keep falling on my head, obviously...
