Sorry...been a bit busy

It was the highlight of my punting year to take the odds on My Kingdom of Fife. I got 151/1 the win and $41 the place for the biggest price and biggest pay day of my sporting life. Shiny Copper at Cheltenham came close, 66/1 in the Triumph Hurdle, thanks very much and then there was the time I backed Sarrera at 81/1 in the ring at Randwick only to watch the bookie immediately roll him out to 101/1. We had a joke about it as he paid me out a trouserful of fifties just a few minutes later.

Why the nostalgia? Simple. Eight weeks ago, my countrymen, for whom I regularly traverse the globe including one trip from Sydney to Rome to see them lose in Italy for the first time...my countrymen, eight weeks ago were

TWO HUNDRED TO ONE TO WIN THE RUGBY WORLD CUP! TWO HUNDRED TO ONE.

I have a small wager placed after we put Tonga away at 34/1. Why oh why etc...

Caulfield Cup tomorrow. Feels wrong to tip against the Draw but he would have to really turn the Uk form over to win at 2400. Good luck if you got the good prices. I've got a little interest running on Green Moon, who could actually be Lloyd's best, as the other main hopes drop away. I've also got a nice price about Saptapadi, but to be honest I could back most of them. Oli Bell from Sky told me not to back Manighar then two nights later and Alf "as far as I am concerned" Mathews tips it as his best bet. But then I have never taken notice of Alf. As far as I am concerned he's a terrible judge.

Unlike the mighty Duff who continues to pull rabbits from hats. This week his each way specials, both of which have been punted off the map are both first uppers at Randwick, She who must be obeyed and Riva Da Lago. 10 each way pays over a grand, that's a good start in paying off the costs of watching the boyos beat the French.

Still feels like I'm dreaming! Cymru am Byth!
