Great week. It's impossible to decide which is the better, Cup week here or Cheltenham in March, but the combination of great fields and huge crowds makes for great sport. Unless you are watching it on Channel 7 obviously. Whether it's the bloke on the horse getting in the way or the endless interviews with ex soap stars, they do a terrific job of spoliing the party. And that's even with Freedman and Francesca onboard, both of whom deserve medals...
Punting wise, we missed Dunaden, had a little heart flutter when it looked like At First Sight was making a run, missed Woorim and missed Bauer getting a run. Ridiculous rule, especially as it seems to be based on the TAB computer...you know, the one where they have just announced they can now take a 20 leg all-up multi...
But we did take the tip on a few winners and especial thanks to the tweeter who gave us Lloyd's horse as the winner of the first on Thursday. We also got out first ever Quaddie up on cup day. Shame it paid only $1800 and of course we had it for a fraction. Hope you all found something during the week.
This weekend is still hard. Can't understand why anyone would back Bauer at $2 and I'm a fan. Feel much the same way about Merchandise who looked a bot ordinary last start. I won't be taking the $3.
There are a couple I like in Melbourne. SEAN BAILE MOR won so easily in SA last time and comes into this race lightly weighted and at healthy odds. Pleased I don't have to write his name on a slip though. WOORIM may win as easily as last time and $16 is tasty. Unfortunately, KINGS ROSE is in the same race! I'm trying to find a way of doubling and trebling them up with our boy who is a very fancy price for his return in Brissy. He should win.
