Well Rhys Priestland won man of the match against a laughably incompetent Northampton side, but otherwise not exactly a vintage week for our picks. ALTONIO ran an absolute, total shocker. Neither Scarf nor Title ever looked like winning. i was right in calling Racing Heart but there's no pride in that...
Normally look forward to heavy tracks with relish. Bookies seem to ignore wet form when they are setting the fixed odds and usually there are a few standouts that then tumble in when the Duff tips them as swimmers in the unparalelled Sydney Racing preview on 2KY. By the time Richie is proclaiming that they are absolute ducks, they're close to odds on, which is great for those of us holding the big tickets. Especially when, as Richie would inevitably say (sigh) they get the bickies/chocckies etc...
Tomorrow at Canterbury isn't easy though. I like WHITLAM and YULALONA, both trained by the master and both sure to be fit, currently representing a 24/1 double. You have to like the wet form of ATOMIC FORCE and again, that's pretty much tipping a favourite but previous runs definitely stand up here.
I'm still looking for some wet track specialists, will update in a few hours.
And of course, we'll be watching Brisbane with interest. Good chance of a win, down in grade at a HUGE price
