Follow the Leader!

I have the smallest of hunches that we might see some leadery tracks tomorrow. Given that its Caulfield, I'd say its odds on...

In judging the speed of a race, we use an age old system from a book by an old compatriot of ours, T B Fish. The system involves measuring speed out of the gates and position at each bend as well as the 2 and 4 furlong pole. Based on the TBF ratings, some horses can emerge up to 10 points ahead of the field based on a good draw and a leader bias.

I've run the numbers through tomorrows cards. Beware that these take no account of relative form or jockey. Just pure speed and a liking for not being overtaken. The ratings tomorrow throw up the following horses that might just lead and keep going from good draws.

Be careful out there...

CAULFIELD

The Big Steel
Wind in his hair
Canali (although may not stay..)

ROSEHILL

Social Rank. (also might not stay...)
Miss Marx
King Lionheart.

and if it is leadery at Rosehill, our nailed on, cant miss bet of the day is

RUMOUR AND SCANDAL.

Shame he's in the last, but at least we'll know the pattern.
