It don't come easy...

Listening to a terrific documentary from the BBC about George Harrison, narrated by Michael Palin, really very good...seek it out.

Anyhoo. Last week Atomic Force turned out to be the good thing we thought it was. Took the $3.80 which looked overs and it paid $4 everywhere. If only we could persuade all the people who bagged it's group race form to oppose all our good things, we'd be rich...

Tough this weekend. The best races have big fields and we're dealing with two leadery tracks in Melbourne and Sydney. I will be doing the speed maps tomorrow and will post any horses that look like they might have a speed advantage using the TB Fish ratings system. Will definitely weed out any back markers, there's no Foretellers or Woorims going roubd this week.

I like MAYNEDA STRATEGY in Melbourne, would like it more if it was Flemo, and if it rained, but have been following the horse since that oddity, a good midweek form race, against Park View. $11 looks right, each way, all day, as they say. Also each way is CIRCLE OF POWER in the impossibly difficult Festival Stakes. He's drawn well, conditions suit and he's in on the minimum. He may be a notch below these but in an open race $16 looked good. He's $14 now so its not just me...

Brisbane looks impossible again. Our favourite girl CARIAD is back with bar plates. That's a worry, but she's real good when right, Seamer on top...$41?

Finally, a word about jockeys. The ride that C MUNCE gave in winning the last in Brisbane on Wednesday was just vintage. Gate 11 over 1300 and at one time four horses vying for the lead. Munce stayed in touch, cosy to the fence and got the horse over the line for its third win in a row by a lip. Boy he's a good rider that fellow.
